Friday.
Dan was working whole day.
Coffee, bagel.
I waited until it warmed up, and went outside.
Today, I dug up potatoes.
I started with cutting down veins of sweet potato.
Then dug up gently.
I remember that we were growing sweet potatoes in my kindergarten.
What I remember most was that we each carried water in the empty bottle of laundry soap.
I guess pet bottle was not as popular as now.
I remember feeling weird to water plants with detergent bottle.
My mom remembered that the potatoes were sweet, and I have no memory eating it.
I also dug up potatoes which I didn’t plant.
It grows voluntarily from potatoes I didn’t pick up last year.
They were big and red.
I left sweet potatoes under the sun, and moved potatoes into shade.
Then sow winter wheat after them.
It will be the last warm weekend.
I spent my afternoon working on the crochet project.
I made little bag for my niece.
It was really quick, and done by night.
Oh wow, much faster than knitting.
Dan got home around 4, and he tried to fix the sink.
He went to store to buy some not so poison chemical.
I made tomato pasta with onion, ham, and 3 tomatoes.
Pasta is better with less ingredients I guess.
When we went outside, there were so many stars.
I could see the milky way with house lights on.
There was no moon yet.
金曜日。
夫はいちにち仕事。
コーヒー、ベーグル。
暖かくなるのを待って、着替えて外へ。
今日は芋掘り日和。
まずサツマイモのツルをとってから、丁寧に掘っていく。
あまり大きくはならなかったけれど、きれいな赤紫のイモたち。
マルチの上に並べて天日干し。
幼稚園の時、隣の畑でサツマイモを育てていた。
家から持ってきた洗濯洗剤の空き容器を水やりに使った。
道路を渡って水を運んだのを覚えている。
多分、その当時は水のペットボトルとかあまり出回ってなかったのかな？
蓋と持ち手があって、家庭にある容器、ということで選ばれたのだろうと思う。
なんだか変だなと思っていた覚えがある。
母に話すと美味しく食べたことを覚えていた。わたしは全然覚えていない。
子供の記憶っておもしろい。
次は、昨年とり忘れたイモから育ったジャガイモ。
こちらは大きくきれいな楕円形のイモがいくつもとれた。
ジャガイモは日陰で干す。
空いたところに冬小麦を撒いて終わり。
週末いっぱい暖かくて、そこからまた寒くなるみたいなので、片付けを進めるつもり。
昨日の残りを食べて、午後はのんびり過ごした。
かぎ針でメッシュのポーチをつくっているのだけれど、本当にどんどんできる。
慣れたらもっと早いだろうな。
棒針ばかりやってきたけれど、これでかなり幅が広がった。
夜には小さなポーチが編み上がる。
夫は夕方に帰ってきて、またシンクと格闘していた。
あまりキツくない薬剤を買ってきて試してみる。
夜ご飯はトマトパスタ。
タマネギ、ハムをしっかり炒めて、トマト3つで煮込む。
パスタはシンプルな方がおいしいかもしれない。
夫の妹に電話。
夜、外に出たら星がすごくクリアに見えて、天の川も見えた。
月が出ていないので、家の電気がついていてもはっきり見えるくらい。
空気がキリっとしてきた。
