yuko's diary 10/29/24

Tuesday.

It was raining all night.

I was half dreaming and thinking that my garden is happy with rain.

Dan was thinking that too.

We had a relaxing morning, and went down to have coffee and yogurt.

While watching the world series, my brother brought my nephew.

We played for a while, and Dan and I went for a running.

My mom brought him to see us.

He waved for us and called me Yu-chan.

We took shower and I helped my mom making lunch.

We made pumpkin, and spinach, and pickles.

My dad made chestnut rice, and they also bought egg cake.

We changed and left house 2 pm.

Today we went to take family photo.

All 9 of us including photographers try to make my nephew smile.

It was so funny.

They also took three families separately.

It took us one hour, and then me and Dan took train to see our friend.

He used to work with me in NY, and now back in Japan.

We had tea and chocolate cake, and then went to eat ramen.

We could all speak English and it was nice.

The station was so crowded and it was overwhelming.

But we managed to say good bye, and went home.

We are doing all things we wanted to do.

One by one.

And this trip will end soon.

I felt chilly for the first time.

火曜日。

夜中しっかり雨だった。

寝ぼけながら、お庭がよろこんでいるなと思っていたら、夫も同じことを考えていたらしい。

のんびり起きてコーヒー、ヨーグルト。

野球を見ながら片付けていると、弟と甥っ子が来る。

甥っ子のズボンの裾上げをする。

遊んでから、夫と走りに行く。

母が甥っ子を連れて見に来た。

手を振ってくれてかわいい。3周走って終わり。

今日は「ゆうちゃん」と呼んでくれた。

交代でシャワーを浴びて、お昼ご飯の準備を手伝う。

かぼちゃを煮て、ほうれん草のおひたしを作り、お漬物を切る。

父が作ってくれた栗ご飯と、買ってきただし巻き卵で、ちょうどいいお昼ご飯になった。

それから着替えて、2時に出発。

今日は家族写真を撮りに行く日。

まずは甥の機嫌を取るのにみんな総出であやして大変だった。

写真屋さんも親子で、合計9人で大騒ぎ。笑った笑った。

それから3家族それぞれの写真も撮ってもらう。

1時間くらいで終わって、弟家族に見送ってもらい、駅から梅田へ向かう。

甥は別れ際に必ず泣く。

何が悲しいのかな。

梅田で友達と待ち合わせてお茶。

5年ぶりに会うのだけど、変わっていなくて楽しかった。

NYで一緒に働いてくれていた彼は元々は後輩の友達で、英語で話してくれるから夫も喋れてとてもよかった。

晩ごはんも食べていこうということになり、同じ地下街でラーメン屋さんを見つけて入る。

帰り道、梅田の人の多さにびっくり。

7時を過ぎているけれど、仕事帰りの人たちなんだろう。

左側通行で綺麗に流れていった。

駅の改札でなんとかハグして別れた。

地元の駅からタクシーで帰宅。

予定していたことをひとつずつこなせてほっとしている。

今日は初めて夜肌寒いと思った。
