Friday.

It was sunny day again.

I went to the garden and picked beets and turnip leaves.

I got one small turnip.

It was not bitter at all and very good.

The lunch was garden greens, tuna steak, and brown rice.

After Dan left for work, I did laundry.

Cleaned up and walked to the town to get things.

When I was back, I got a package.

Trees!

Two thimble berries by the creek.

Cornelian berry by the herb garden.

Schisandra in the triangle park.

Ground nut by the native garden.

And chestnuts by the creek.

All was small and easy to plant.

Hope they will grow big.

It was already 3 but I started making chutney using last batch of green tomatoes.

Cooked them down with apple, ginger, garlic, green pepper, apple cider vinegar, sugar and spice.

The big pot was full and it took so long to cook it down.

When it finally came down to half, I move it to the small pot and found that it was burning at the bottom. Oops.

It was not too bad so I canned them anyway.

My tomato factory came to and today.

I also did my study.

And peeled rest of garlic.

Two jars of garlic in vinegar.

Hopefully it will last till next harvest.

When Dan came home, we hanged out and stayed awake late.

金曜日。

今日もいい天気。

お庭に出てビーツやカブの葉を摘む。

ついでにカブの間引きも。

一つだけ、きれいなカブが採れたので食べてみたら、全く苦味がなくておいしい。

お昼は野菜のニンニクソース炒め、ツナステーキ、玄米ごはん。

夫を見送って洗濯。

少し片付けてから町へ買い出しに。

戻ってきたら木が届いていた。

そのままお庭へ。

シンブルベリーというネイティブのベリーを2本、小川の横に。

コーネリアンチェリーは、ハナミズキの仲間で実をつける。ハーブガーデンの横に。

五味子の苗を三角公園に。

グラウンドナッツはネイティブの根菜。ポテトより栄養があるそう。

それから栗の木を小川の横に。

どれも小さいからすぐに植えられて助かった。

うまく育ちますように。

もう3時だったけれど、まだ青いトマトを全部使って、チャツネをつくる。

まずひたすら切って、大きな鍋で煮込んでいく。

リンゴ、グリーンペッパー、ニンニク、ショウガ、リンゴ酢、砂糖、スパイスも入れる。

鍋にいっぱいになってしまって、そこから減らすのにすごく時間がかかった。

ようやく半分になって別の鍋にあけたら、底が焦げていた。あらま。

でも味には支障がないくらいなので続行。

大きな鍋の焦げをとって、お湯を沸かして瓶詰め作業。

9個分取れた。

これで今年のトマト仕事は終わり。わたしのトマト工場は本日をもって閉館します。

合間に勉強。

今日は解剖学の動画を見たり、復習したり。

ニンニクの皮剥きも最後までやる。瓶二つ分の酢漬けができた。

とりあえず来年の収穫まで持てばいいな。

ワークアウトもする。

夫が帰宅しておしゃべりして、ちょっと夜更かししてしまった。
