The last of 4 days weekend.
We woke up little earlier than yesterday.
Coffee, yogurt with cereal.
Dan went for running.
I went out to water the garden,
but it was cold!
Putting cap on, and one more jacket,
and I started potting up the eggplants.
They looked fine, though I’m glad I finished peppers already.
Cutting those beautiful roots is sad, but it will help them survive.
I could collect seeds from one overripe fruit.
By the time I sow oats after the eggplant, the sun was out.
So I did watered whole garden and trees.
I sow oats after squash too.
Dan was on the roof trying to fix the leak around the chimney.
He parked the mower at the other side of roof and tied big rope there.
Used the rope for safety.
It’s not high, but steep roof.
I worked on my postcard piece in the afternoon.
Sometime I feel lost, sometime I feel great.
Dan loves this piece.
We had nap, and then I made ramen.
With baby eggplant, chard, kale, pepper, beets leaf, baby carrots.
And ham.
I love eggplant.
Even though they were tiny, it tasted just as good as big one.
Today was “Columbus Day”, but I prefer Indigenous People’s Day.
I saw many cool photos online.
昨日よりは早めに起床。
夫の4連休最終日。
コーヒー、ヨーグルトとシリアル。
夫は走りに行った。
水やりの日だ、と、外に出てみると寒い！
えー、一気に来たなぁ。
夫にニット帽を借りて、上着も借りて、まずナスの鉢上げ。
幸い、ダメージは受けてなさそう。
ペッパー類を先にやっておいてよかった。
立派な根っこを切ってしまうのはちょっと申し訳ないけれど、
こうする方が冬越し成功できる確率がたかい。
黄色く熟れた実から種もとれて満足。
空いたところにオーツ麦を播いていると太陽が出てきて温まってきた。
そのまま水やり。
スクワッシュも全部片付けて、そこもオーツ麦を播いてから水やり。
夫は煙突の周りの雨漏りの修理をしていた。
反対側に芝刈り機を停めて、そこに縛ったロープを命綱にして。
平家だからそんなに高くないけれど、鋭角なのと、すべるのとでちょっと緊張した。
午後はポストカードの作品を。
うまくいっているなと思える時と、どうなんだろという時を繰り返している。
夫はとても気にいっているみたいですごく褒めてくれる。
お昼寝して、起きてからラーメンをつくる。
最後にとれたチビナスとペッパー、ケール、ビーツの葉、チャード、ニンジンの間引き菜を炒め煮。ハムを焼いて味付けしたもの。
具沢山のラーメン。
小さいのにちゃんとおいしいナスだった。
今日はコロンバスデーといって、コロンブス（バス？）がアメリカ大陸を発見したことをお祝いする日？なのかな。
原住民にとっては受難のはじまりのような日なので、
代わりにIndigenous People’s Dayをお祝いしようと言われている。
わたしもこちらの方がすき。
ツイッター上でかっこいい写真をたくさん見た。
