Wednesday.
We went to Wenatchee for my doctor appointment.
It won’t take long, but the driving would be 4 hours.
This is what means to live suburbs.
It was raining.
I hoped it’d stop on the way, but it didn’t. And it was foggy.
Everyone ran fast in this bad weather.
We arrived there around 10:20.
Took some break at the cafe in hospital.
I had tomato soup, and Dan had pizza bread.
Then we waited in radiology.
We saw so many people come and go in only ten minutes.
It took 40 minutes or so, and no pain.
And it was the same doctor and that was nice too.
We left hospital before 12.
It was still raining, but felt much better.
We stopped at Petaros for bakery, and Omak for North40.
It was fun going home.
We arrived home little past 2.
I was so tired, and took nap.
Dan came to join me.
The neighbor came to bring our mail.
The new mail person always make mistakes.
And then we heard another knock.
It was about new internet company.
Two visitors!
We had grilled cheese with kimchi for dinner.
With carrots and humus.
Went to bed early too.
水曜日。
今日は車で2時間の街の病院へ。
来週の手術の下準備なのですぐ終わるのだけど、運転が往復4時間。
郊外に住むとはこういうことだなと思う。
雨の中出発。
途中で止むかなと思ったけれど、ずっと降っていた。
霧が濃いのには困ったけれど、これは途中から収まってきた。
視界が悪い中でも、時速60マイルが基本。
これって時速80キロくらいかなとなんとなく思っていたけれど、100キロだ。
そう考えると途端に怖くなるけれど、高速って川のように水の流れに乗らないといけない。
夫もだいぶ慣れてきて、安心して乗っていられるけれど、飛び出してくるシカや、視界の悪さにどうしても気を張ってしまう。
10時過ぎに到着して、ちょっと院内のカフェで一服。
夫はピザパンみたいなのを、わたしはトマトスープをいただいた。
放射線科に行って、少し待つ間、たくさんの人が出入りする。
これだけでうちの病院の1日分かも。
はー、すごいな。やっぱり規模が全然違う。
施術自体は40分くらいか、痛みもなくすぐに終わった。
前回と同じ医師で、それも安心だった。
12時までには病院を後にする。
帰り道も雨だったけれど、気持ちは楽だ。
ペタロスという町の美味しいパン屋さんに寄ったり、オマークという隣町で、アウトドア用品を見たりして楽しく過ごした。
2時過ぎに帰宅。
それでも長距離移動は疲れる。
わたしはそのままお昼寝。
夫も途中から参加。
雨も重なってグーっと眠った。
夕方、お隣のフェイスが、郵便物が最近間違って届くの、と言いにきてくれた。
新しい配達員さんがトレーニング中らしいね、と話す。
その後またノックがあって、それはインターネット会社の営業だった。
こんなに人が来るのは珍しい。
夜は買ってきたパンでキムチとチーズのホットサンド。
それとニンジンとフムスで簡単に。
夜も眠くて眠かった。
