Tuesday. Work day.
I packed curry and rice.
It was cold to walk to work.
I got there before my body warmed up.
When I saw 70 and up on the order, I’d think we need to assist.
But aging is not only age. It really depends on each person.
Today we had 80 year old ex Air Force one pilot.
He retired and moved here where he and his wife used to travel on motor cycle.
He told his wife “see you later, baby!” when I took him from the waiting room.
He looked my eyes when he talked to me.
Very cool and nice gentleman.
Age is not the problem.
In the afternoon, we had to take in ER patient.
This was the first time for me and for Josh.
It was not as difficult as I thought.
ER was quiet, but different atmosphere from rest of hospital.
I worked till 5.
It was busy but I could still read a book.

It’s about to be a writer and friendship.
Dan came to pick me up.
We didn’t eat dinner but had chips and guacamole.
He later made quesadilla.
We watched Lakers and Knicks.
I saw Hachimura did dunk.
Dan fell asleep early.
I stayed up little longer.
火曜日。おしごと。
カレーライスをお弁当に。
マイナス11度の徒歩出勤は寒かった。
体が温まる前に到着。
患者さんの年齢が70を超えると、アシスタントが必要だろなと身構える。
でも本当は年齢は関係なくて、個人差がすごい。
今日の80歳の男性はエアフォースワンの元パイロットで、奥さんとバイク旅で見つけたこの地域に越してきたそう。
松葉杖はついていたものの、しゃきしゃきしていて、
待合室で待つ奥さんに、”See you later, baby!” と言っていてかっこよかった。
わたしの目をまっすぐ見て話してくれる。
本当に年齢ではなく人柄だと思う。
午後、ERの患者さんを急遽受け入れることに。
ERに行くのは初めてだったけれど、その時は静かで落ち着いていた。
でも他の病棟とは違う雰囲気がある。
5時までしっかり仕事をして終了。
バタバタしたりしたけれど、意外と本も読めた。
今日からはケイト・ザンブレノの”To Write As If Already Dead”
ライターになることについてのいろんな感情と、過去のライターたちへの興味が混ざっていておもしろい
夫が迎えにきてくれて帰宅。
ワカモレとチップスをつまんでおしゃべり。
NBAを見たら、八村塁選手が出ていて、ダンクするところを見れた。
夫は早く寝てしまったけれど、わたしはもう少し起きていた。
