Friday.

Weekend!

I woke up fairy early.

I took care of rye bread, and started sourdough.

Dan made breakfast burrito.

Mushed potato and scrambled egg.

Very good.

I left home before noon.

My ex colleague was doing clinical in the hospital here in town.

I brought her coffee and she was very happy.

She said it’s fun to learn new stuff.

She’s enjoying working in wound care. Wow.

I’ll be exhausted to feel too much pain.

She’ll be a great nurse.

Dan came to pick me up and we drove down to the southern town.

His colleagues’s father passed away and they were having a memorial.

It was in a big hall and almost 100 people were there.

We stayed for an hour and talked to him.

It was sad but beautiful.

We stopped at the home depot to get chimney brash.

And some plywood.

It was sunny but so cold.

I drove home.

Back home, we made quick bagel sandwiches as we didn’t have lunch yet.

We rested for a while, and I cooked dinner while baking.

Mahi mahi with lemon butter sauce, kale, potato salad, and brown rice.

We had a relaxing night.

There was a general strike in Minnesota.

It was so cold there, but people were still marching.

I think the reason I like America is this. People’s power.

金曜日。

おやすみの日。

でもそこまで寝過ごさずに起きる。

昨日のライ麦パンの続きと、サワードウの仕込み。

夫がつくってくれたブレックファストブリトーを食べる。

マッシュポテトとスクランブルエッグのやさしい味。

12時前に家を出る。

今日は元同僚が病院で研修をしているので、お昼休みに会いに行った。

コーヒーを買って届けるととても喜んでくれた。

外傷外来にいるのだけど、とても楽しいらしい。ひー。

わたしならきっと痛みを受け取りすぎる。

彼女には向いているんだなと思う。

1時に別れて夫に迎えにきてもらい、そのまま南の町へ。

夫の同僚のお父様が亡くなって、今日は送別会。

誘われたので出席する。

大きなホールで、席が並んでいて、写真が上映されつつ、いろんな人が挨拶していた。

100人はいたと思う。すごいな。

夫の同僚に挨拶して、1時間ほど過ごしてお暇する。

帰り道にホームセンターに寄って、煙突を掃除する道具と、板材などを購入。

すごく晴れているのに、風が冷たくて寒かった。

帰りはわたしの運転。

帰宅して、お昼がまだだったので、ベーグルサンドをつくって食べる。

それからちょっと休んで、晩ごはんに取り掛かる。

さらにパンも焼いて、忙しい。

晩ごはんは定番になったマヒマヒのレモンバターソース。玄米ごはん、ケール、ポテトサラダ。

夜はのんびりして過ごした。

ミネアポリスではゼネラルストライキで、まつ毛が凍るものすごい寒さの中、みんな外に出て街を練り歩いていた。すごいなぁ。

状況はすごく酷いのだけど、ちゃんとひとびとの力を感じる。

絶望の中でも、いつも必ずバカみたいな、子供っぽいような希望があって、それがわたしがアメリカを好きな理由だと思う。
