Holiday.
We woke up little after 8.
Coffee.
Shower and laundry.
We went to the studio before noon.
Unloaded the kiln.
The new clay was nice color but the glaze was too thin.
It was fun to see how all the pieces were changed the shape.
Even though the temperature was lower this time.
My pieces are thin that you can see the light through.
I like how it’s surprise every time.
But I need to work on glaze.
Concetta asked me if i want to join her for an event in April.
We buy a small booth and sell our ceramics.
Sounds really fun and I said yes.
We went shopping and ate simple lunch.
Back home, I heated up pieces in the oven and applied more glaze.
It doesn’t observe much liquid after firing, you have to dry up the glaze.
We brought the pieces back to the studio.
Thanks to Dan for driving.
He also was asked to a show in summer.
I got a good news for my Los Angeles friend too.
A good news day.
Back home again.
I did ironing, Dan was organizing the kitchen.
I found that peach was germinated.
I love growing tree from seeds.
In 10 years, this will be a small forest.
Dan made mushed potato without butter.
He added parsley and goat cheese and it was great
Dan was watching football.
But then we just cuddled for a while it was really nice.
We took a small nap.
Dan also made quesadillas for lunch.
It was gloomy, but fun long weekend.
祝日。
8時過ぎに起きる。
コーヒー。
シャワー、洗濯。
お昼前にスタジオに行って窯出し。
新しい土はけっこう好きな色だったけれど、釉薬が薄すぎた。
前回より低い温度だったのにちゃんと形が変化している。いい感じ。
光にかざすと指が見えるくらい薄いので、熱で形が変わる。
こうやって、出てこないと結果がわからないところが好き。
釉薬はまだまだ実験が必要と感じる。
他の釉薬も買ってみて、それから釉薬ナシのもつくってもいいな。
4月に、チェランという町であるイベントに一緒に参加しないかと誘われる。
小さなブースを借りて陶器を販売する週末1日だけのイベント。
楽しそう～、まだ作品がぜんぜん足りないけど、やってみたいと返事する。
買い物して帰り、簡単なお昼ご飯。
持ち帰った陶器をオーブンで温めて釉がけする。
一度焼いた陶器は素焼きのように水をすわないので、こうして水分をとばしつつやる必要がある。
それをまたもってスタジオへ。
何度も運転してくれる夫に感謝。
夫は夫で夏に大学院時代の仲間とのグループ展に誘われたみたい。
ロスの友達からも仕事のことで連絡があり、今日はうれしいニュースが続いた。
また帰宅、その後はアイロンをかけたり、夫は台所の鍋を整理したりしていた。
ふと見ると、モモの芽が出ている。
わー。桃栗3年だけど、種から木を育てるのは、実を収穫するということを抜きにしても楽しい。
10年後には小さな森になるといいなと思っている。
夕食は簡単にマッシュポテト。
バターが切れているのだけど、ゴートチーズ、パセリを合わせて夫がつくってくれた。
とてもおいしい。
オーストラリアオープンが進んでいるけれど、時差が大きくてほとんどみられない。
アメフトのなんだか大きい試合があったので夫は見ていたけれど、
途中でハグしながらうたた寝した。
とても気持ちがいい。
明日のお弁当になるものがなかったので、ケーサディーヤをつくってくれた。
ずっと天気が悪かったけれど、静かでたのしい連休だった。
