Friday. Dan worked a half day.
I woke up with him and had coffee.
We used wood bord from old house for stove, but after one and half winter,
we are out of woods.
I moved some board to under the roof to dry.
It’s been warm for a while, but it’s a long way to the spring too.
I will cut those when it dries up, and also we can take some wood from wood mill.
Dan came home around noon.
He made pasta with chili.
He also brought home white mushroom which I cooked with butter and soy sauce.
I already had my soup, so I had small portion of pasta.
It was cloudy gray day.
We were supposed to go for a walk, but decided to stay home.
We had a great nap, and it was already dark when we woke up.
We did stretching instead.
Dan saw a FedEx truck outside.
We were wondering why it’s so late?
But it was only 6pm.
In the winter, night feels weirdly long.
It was my potting soil.
It was hard to carry heavy box while walking on the ice.
We had soup and pasta for dinner.
And we finished “The Bear”
It was really good, but working in restaurant seems too hard.
Dan’s sister who’s a chef loves this show, so it must be realistic.
I can’t be a chef.
Looking forward for season 2.
金曜だけれど夫は半日仕事。
一緒に起きてコーヒー。
家の解体で出た端材をカットしたものや、剪定で出た枝を薪にしていたのだけれど、ひと冬半でついになくなった。
このところは暖かいけれど、まだまだ冷え込むこともある。
別の場所にあった、残りのいろんな板を屋根の下に運んでおく。
濡れてしまっているので少しでも乾くように。
隣の木工所から端材をもらうという手もあるし、あとふた月、なんとかなるだろう。
去年は1月に寒波がきたけれど、今年は冬至がピークだったし。
夫はお昼前に帰宅。
帰ってすぐパスタをつくってくれる。
ホワイトマッシュルームももらってきたので、これはわたしがバター醤油で炒めた。
わたしは昨日のスープを温めて、ミルクを足したものを食べていたので、パスタは少しだけ。
どんより曇っていて、散歩にいく気にもならず、そのままお昼寝。
起きたらもう薄暗かった。
とことん眠い。
代わりに家でストレッチや腹筋など。
FedExのトラックが来てる、と夫が見にいくと、わたしが頼んだ土だった。
こんな遅くに？と思ったけれど、まだ6時。
冬の間は日が暮れた後の時間感覚がおかしい。
夏ならまだ外にいる時間だ。
土の入った重い段ボール箱をかつぎながら、つるつるの雪の上を歩くのは難しかった。
夜はまたスープとパスタ。
それから”The Bear” を最後まで見る。
すごくよかったけれど、レストランで働く人はこんな大変なの？
シェフをしている夫の妹がこのドラマにハマっていたのでそうなのだろう。
急かされることが最大の弱点なので、わたしにはできないなと思う。
料理をして喜ばれることのよろこびはわかる。
シーズン2もたのしみだな。
