Tuesday.
After Dan left for work, I changed and left home.
The ground was still icy here and there, I was being careful
When I arrived there, the first patient was there.
The internet was down, and the lights went off, but
all the patients came on time, and it went well.
In George Saunders book, I started this short story with werid feeling and realized that it was the original story of the movie we watched recently.
Tried to read through without thinking about the movie was hard.
But then, it was much better than the movie.
Oh, wow, it was funny experience!
I had watched disappointing movie adoption of books I read before, but this time was different.
Dan asked me to lend the book after I finished, so I am looking forward to hear his thoughts on this.
I worked whole day and left hospital at 4.
Dan was on the way to pick me up, and we ended up meeting half way home.
The sun came out in afternoon, and the sunset was beautiful.
The day is getting longer.
We rested and talked about work.
Then Dan made steak and rice.
We ate it with kimchi.
Dan fell asleep again, but tried to stay awake.
It felt so nice to be close to each other.
火曜日。
夫を見送ってから着替えて出発。
まだ凍っている部分もあるので慎重に歩く。
到着すると最初の患者さんが着いたところだった。
ネットが接続しなかったり、蛍光灯が切れたりと小さなトラブル続きだったけれど、
患者さんは全員時間通りに来てくれてスムーズに進んだ。
読んでいる短編集の中の一話が、タイトルから違和感があったのだけど、1ページ終わらないうちに、最近見た映画の原作だと気づいた。
わ、これはいままでになかったパターンかも。
想像の中で、どうしても映画の登場人物に引っ張られるのだけど、それをなるべく見ないようにしつつ読む。
最後まで読んだら、映画より原作の方が格段に良いパターンだった。
映画では話を膨らまそうとして失敗している。
原作をすでに読んでいて、映画化の結果にがっかりしたことはあるけれど、これは逆だった。
わー、おもしろい体験。
ああ、そういう意図だったのか、という発見があった。
読み終わったら貸してと夫に言われているので、彼の感想が楽しみだ。
きっちり最後まで仕事して、遅く帰ってきた夫に帰り道の途中で拾ってもらう。
今日はお昼過ぎから太陽が出ていて、夕焼けがきれいだった。
だいぶ日が伸びたなぁ。
帰宅してしばらくおしゃべり。
お互いの仕事の話など。
それから夫がステーキを焼いてごはんを炊いてくれた。
キムチを添えて小さな丼にして食べる。
今日も夫は疲れて寝てしまったけれど、昨日より長く起きていようとしてくれていた。
くっついているだけでじんわり気持ちがいい。
夫は、じんじんする、と表現するけれど、ほんとうになんらかの物質が出ていると思えるくらい心地がいい。
