yuko's diary 1/1/26

New year.

I woke up late and started cooking lunch.

Potato, sweet potato, onion miso soup.

Sprouted rice with lentil, and barely.

Broccoli with sweet and sour soy sauce.

Then I cooked mahi mahi for the first time.

I looked up the recipes and made Lemmon butter sauce, it was great.

Around 11, I finished cooking and we celebrated new year.

Dan liked the fish too.

Dan went to work.

I did laundry.

Then worked on my spoon.

I went out to make kindling.

Saige was around and was not very patient.

I gave her ham after I finished my work.

Then I started my new journal, and bought some seeds online.

When the new catalogue is up on seeds company, it’s new year.

It got so cold around 4pm, and I realized it was snowing lightly outside.

It only accumulated one inch or so.

I baked my sourdough, and heated up my leftover.

The house warmed up slowly.

After dinner, I did my workout.

Then I read my book.

It got so dramatic, but there is only little left.

I got surprised and had to go back.

I made fire before Dan came home.

The dumper has been acting weird, so I had to watch it for while.

When Dan came home, we chatted for a while.

And stayed up late.

Nothing special, but nice new year day.

元旦。

のんびり起きて、すぐにお昼に取り掛かる。

ジャガイモ、サツマイモ、タマネギのお味噌汁。

レンズ豆と大麦入りの発芽玄米。

ブロッコリーの甘酢炒め。

それから夫が買ってきたマヒマヒという魚を調理。

シイラの仲間で、いかつい見た目だけど、臭みのない白身。

ニンニク入りのレモンバターソースを作ってみたらすごく美味しかった。

11時過ぎに全部完成して、お祝い。

魚があまり得意でない夫もおいしそうに食べていた。

午後から夫は仕事へ。

見送って、洗濯を回す。

スプーン作りの続きをする。

それから外へ出て焚き付けをつくる。

セージが来て、やたら騒いでいた。

作業を終えてからおやつをあげる。

それから新しいノートに書き込みをしたり、種を物色する。

種屋さんが新しいカタログを発表し出すと、新しい年だなと思う。

夕方、すごく冷え込んできたと思ったら粉雪。

うっすら積もった。

朝仕込んだサワードウを焼いたり、残り物を温めたりしているうちに家の中も温まってきた。

晩ごはんの後ワークアウト。

それからあったかくして、本を読む。

後少しなのに、いろいろと展開が早くて、びっくりして読み返したりもして忙しない。

夫が帰宅する前に暖炉に火を入れる。

最近、ダンパーが勝手に閉まって煙が逆流したりするので、安定するまで見張っている。

夫が帰宅しておしゃべりして夜更かしした。

元旦だけど、なんてことのない普通の日でそれが良かった。
