Friday. Dan is off today.
Woke up slowly, and had coffee.
I took shower.
Today I brought my ceramic pieces to the studio nearby the recycle center.
I was putting them in the trunk, but Dan broke one and got scared.
For me, it’s nothing, but I understand that it’s scary for others.
So I repack them, and put them in the backseat, and made two turns.
Concetta is the lady who runs the studio.
She was from here, but just got back after 20 some years.
She is very nice and we talked a lot.
I let Dan go home, and started loading the kiln.
It would be the first time since forever, but I wasn’t nervous because we were chatting.
Back home, Dan went to the attic to fix the insulation.
I was working on the garden bed where I will plant Egyptian Walking onions.
I love touching the soil, clay, any kinds of them.
Dan cooked this huge ham.
It’s $44, but we could made 20 sandwiches with them, so well worth it.
I harvested mustard green and arugula in my garden.
We put tomato from Art.
Dan fried them little and it was really good.
We took nap.
And it was the first game of world series.
Houston and Philadelphia.
Though I love Dusty Baker, I decided to lean on Philadelphia this time.
It was really good game 1.
金曜日、夫はおやすみ。
ゆっくり起きて、コーヒー。
シャワーを浴びる。
今日はつくった作品を陶芸教室まで持っていく日。
リサイクルセンターの横にある、園芸店の中にある。
最初は作品をトランクに入れようとしたけれど、手伝ってくれてた夫がひとつ割ってしまって、これは怖すぎる、というのでバックシートにいれて、2回に分けてもっていくことにした。
焼く前の作品は脆いけれど、土に戻せるのもあって、わたしにとってはぜんぜん大したことではない。
じぶんでもよく割るし。
でも、他のひとはそれはこわいだろうと思う。卵の殻より脆い。
陶芸教室を運営しているのはコンセッタという変わった名前の女性。
40代半ばくらいだろうか。
もともとはここの出身で、3年前に帰ってきたところ。
とてもなじみやすく、いろいろおしゃべりした。
夫には一度帰宅してもらい、そのまま窯詰め。
ものすごい久しぶりなのだけれど、おしゃべりしながら気張らずにできた。
夫に迎えに来てもらって帰宅。
夫はそれから屋根裏に登って、作業中に動かした断熱材を戻してくれた。
わたしは今日届くはずの苗のために土を用意する。
なんだかずっと土をさわっているな。
京都の大学にいるときはこれが足りなかったのかもしれない。
お昼はコープで買ってきた立派なハムでサンドイッチ。
ちゃんとお肉の形のままの、大きなハム。44ドルだけれど、これで2週間分の夫のランチ、その他夕食をつくれるし、逆にお得だ。
お庭でルッコラと、マスタードグリーンを収穫。
霜が降りてさらに元気なひとたち。
あとはもらってきたトマトと、わたしのピクルスと。
おいしい。
アートというオーガニック農家さんのこのトマトは季節の終わりのもので、あまり元気がないけれど、ちょっとローストすると甘さがましてとてもおいしかった。
夕方までお昼寝して、今日はワールドシリーズ1戦目。
この数年ずっと強いヒューストンと、弱小だったフィラデルフィアの対戦。
ヒューストンの監督はダスティ・ベーカーという、めちゃくちゃ渋い人で好きなのだけれど、
今回はフィラデルフィアを応援することにする。
5点先制されて、あっさり終わるかと思ったら、同点に追いつき、延長戦で逆転勝ち。
わー、いいゲームだった。
見ながら夜ご飯のラーメンを食べる。炒めたナスとキャベツをたっぷりのせた。
